Fink Ployd

The David Rutter era

Comfortably Numb Solo

A video I put together to remember my old band Fink Ployd

The accompanying track is none other than yours truly playing through a line 6 Pod X3 Live, USB'd to my PC and recorded straight over a backing track with no further editing whatsover, bar a second guitar part in the second half of the solo and blending into live sound and footage from two of our gigs at 'The Old Market Tavern' and 'Moses Gate', at the end of the video

Recorded in April 2009 just after our Rock Radio gig at the Manchester Ritz.

Mother Solo

I borrowed a Line 6 Pod X3 Live for a few days back in April 2009. I USB'd the X3 to my PC and recorded my guitar straight over three backing tracks I found on the 'Gilmourish' site.

This track has no audio editing at all, it is as played and was recorded along with the other two tracks, Comfortably Numb and Young Lust, before I learned the solos properly lol.

The two adorable ladies in the video are my lovely wife Su and my bessie mate and beautiful daughter Almira.

The video scenes were shot on a Sony DVD 92E in March 2006 when my daughter was just 3 years 8 months old.

Monsters of Mock

I have finally given in after being asked by so many people, so many times if I would put up videos of my last band Fink Ployd. So against my better judgement, here is the first video

The Happiest Days of Our Lives and Another Brick in The Wall Part 2 taken from Fink Ployd's performance at the Monsters of Mock gig. Manchester Rock Radio's 1st birthday party on the 8th May 2009 at the Ritz, Manchester.

Sorry I ate loads of your sandwiches & snacks Limehouse Lizzy and the Rolling Clones. Can you imagine how embarrassed I was when I discovered I was in the wrong dressing room? I'm also sorry I drank your beer Rattle & Hum, I thought it was all for us hic. I think Jeepster (Gaz) forgives me, he said he did lol.

Line Up

  • Jaki Chapman - Saxophone/Keyboard
  • Eddie Taylor - Drums/Vocals
  • Alan Crompton - Bass
  • Patrick O'Hare - Lead Vocals/Guitar
  • David Hobson - Keyboards/Vocals
  • David Rutter - Lead Guitar/Lap Steel

Fink Ployd at the Witchwood

Part One

Here is part one of the Witchwood compilation.

A note on the sound. The Witchwood videos were shot on an old Sony handcam. so the sound is a bit iffy.

The hissing you can hear from time to time is the smoke /haze machines. Or was that Deni (our awesome sound engineer) expressing his feelings because I turned my amp up again?

You are the best dude, luv ya.

Part Two

Our Sax player Jaki had just departed for a teaching post in India. We had not yet discovered the fabulously talented Sam Lewis. and were a bit stuck. At very short notice Rob, (sorry Rob, I never did learn your surname) kindly agreed to jump in and Play Sax for us.

Considering Rob never rehearsed with us prior to the gig and wasn't that familiar with Floyd before we put him on the spot so to speak, he did a fantastic job.
